This research project tries, to explore women's participation and learn about ICTs and its applications to improve livelihood opportunities of women flocks. Findings show that a model of women empowerment can be developed through building their capacities and get them connected with the wider information network by harvesting the benefits of ICTs; and through accessing cyber space a collaborative women's development program can be initiated.
The study was carried out in the southwestern part of Bangladesh to explore the environmental and occupational health problems associated with shrimp culture. During 1980s, there was a trend developed in that area to cultivate shrimp by holding and using saline water for long. Local endeavor creates some initial employments and some associated business opportunities. Traditional livelihoods pattern replaces with exotic livelihood patterns. And boosted export earnings in the country but seems to have long term impact on the environment and health.
The study was conducted in association HASAB (HIV/AIDS and STD Alliance Bangladesh) in 2004 to assess the country’s situation and vulnerability of the people living with HIV/AIDS in the family, community and the society and thereafter to develop the knowledge level on Stigma and Information about infected and affected community in Bangladesh; explore and identify service and accessibility of care, general human rights condition of the PLWHA and their opportunities and struggles.
